Cherith was a place.

Cherith is a concept.

Cherith fosters a relationship with God.

Welcome Friends!

I am glad you are here visiting my little corner of the world.

I am often asked where the name Cherith came from and why I use it. The name comes from the story of Elijah in the 1st book of Kings, chapter 17.  You can read about his story here.

Why I use it is actually an answer to prayer. I’m sure there are many ways of applying the lessons of Cherith in our lives and since each person and family are different, our story is unique to us. Whereas the word Cherith itself is derived from the Hebrew root meaning to “cut off “, which Elijah surely was, we choose to focus on the trust in God that Elijah most surely had.

Just like the experiences of Cherith changed Elijah, it has had a powerful impact on our family and who we are today.

You can read about our story here.

For us, the lessons of Cherith help to change our perspective and that change makes all the difference in being able to navigate the woes and troubles of our world.

As a photographer and parable-lover, I seek to find a deeper meaning in what I see through my camera lens: something that will resonate with this hopeful, faith-filled perspective of Cherith.

Since my greatest joys are found with family and nature, I focus my writing on these two topics. I hope you will experience some kindred thoughts and feelings as you explore Lessons From Nature and The Strength of Family.

The final lesson of Cherith is that with God, all thing are possible because:

God is good.

All the time.

And we are His.

With much love and faith,
